5 dangerous things

traditions

legotree.jpg

My internet community is so creative, so inspiring, so funny, so productive. I have looked at so many beautiful advent calendars and observed so many lovely family moments. I have begun to imagine Bloglines as the giant shaggy Ghost of Christmas Present from the Muppet Christmas Carol, taking my hand and leading me around the bloggy universe looking through your frosted windowpanes. (Even if you live in Australia and it's approaching summer, still, somehow, your windowpanes are frosted.)

Each morning we crack open our not-homemade LEGO Advent calendar, revealing our tiny fireman, policeman, or convict, or perhaps a tiny road barricade, giggling over where he or she or it will go in our LEGO Christmas City that is starting to take over the living room. The four of us sit around drinking coffee or tea, looking out at the snow that has transformed our view into a wonderland, counting cardinal pairs, and discussing whether the medieval knights should have their own suburb.

It doesn't really matter what your traditions are, as long as you have them.
