resolutions get a bad rap

It's that time of year when people either announce their resolutions for the new year, keep quiet and mull them over alone, or loudly denounce having them at all.

Personally, I am pro-resolution. After all, how often do we see meaningful change where the first step wasn't a firm resolve to see that change occur?

In that spirit:

Resolution 1: It's not all or nothing.

Resolution 2: Break it down.

Resolution 3: Take real baby steps.

Resolution 4: Use the upward spiral.

Resolution 5: Quit.

I hate the idea of resolutions for those reasons alone! Of course, I'm certainly not loud about it. I just decided I won't commit to anything unless it is something I feel very strongly about...and then, I don't have to wait to do it at the beginning of the year!

That doesn't mean I won't ever do it, because your right about throwing it all out...resolving not to resolve anything won't ever get me anywhere...will it?! :)
