Camp Creek Club: This is it!

Okay, for all you faithful friends who signed up for the Club ages ago and had to wait and wait…

Now that we have the first of our 2009 projects underway (have you checked out the meadow?), we’re starting our mail-order Camp Creek Club rolling.

There will be a free online portion, but you can also sign up to get ten lovely real pieces of mail per year — real mail! And there’s more … lots more!

Issue #1 (that’s the collector issue, right? ha) is going to be a free download on this site for a certain amount of time, but we’re also going to send out up to 50 real, in-the-mail, you-can-touch-it free first issues to the first 50 people who comment on this post. (Plus we’ll do a drawing and sent out at least a dozen more to the people who comment after 50 — see below.)

We’ll have details about subscribing — and where you can get the free stuff — very soon. In the meantime, cheers to a new year and all the fun things we’re going to do together!

Keep Commenting!

In addition to the first 50 commenters, we’ll do a random drawing of the remainder and send out at least a dozen more, possibly more depending on the number who sign up. And thank you for your interest! Yay!

Happy New Year to you, too! Excited for this to begin!

Oh my goodness, how exciting. A mail order club!
Not sure if we count, being international 'an all, but - worth a try ;-)

You are going to be busy :-)

I love real mail. I found your site awhile ago and have been really enjoying your posts. I've also been looking forward to incorporating some of your ideas and projects into our homeschool.

sam, international mail is a-ok for the first free issue, and we will do international mailing for the subscription at a slightly higher cost to cover postage. ;^)

I'll admit, I've been lurking for a bit (I found you through Amy's blog), but the Club made me curious enough to finally say hi, so... "Hi!"
For the record, I have an 8 1/2 year old step-daughter (whom I'd love to homeschool, but alas it's not up to me- she goes to public school), a 2 1/2 year old son and a brand-new 9 week old baby girl. I'm really considering homeschooling for the younger two (if the boy doesn't send me to the nut house first), but obviously I have time before they're old enough. For now, I'm gathering all the info and resources I can, and also looking for things to do with my step-daughter to help her see that learning can be fun, and that the effort is worth it. (That's a particularly difficult lesson for her.)
I love your blog, and think it will be really helpful to me in the future! Thanks a lot!

jess, i’m glad we forced you out into the light! ;^) you know, i really blog about children and learning more than homeschooling .. homeschooling just makes the kind of learning i want for my kids waaaaaay easier to achieve. either way you end up educating your kids, i hope you find lots of useful stuff here! now stay in the light & comment once in awhile! ;^)

annika, oh, me too, girl, me too! and club .. who doesn’t want to be in a cool club? ;^)

hey people, you know i can’t thank everyone for commenting here so i am going to e-mail everybody a private response; that way i won’t become horribly confused about when to close the comments! ;^)

(i become anxious when i can’t show good manners... ;^)

Real mail! I love it. I do this for grown ups, actually. I tried to bring back the fax machine but it didn't work. I don't have any kids but I'm going to pass this along to people that do!

i've been watching your blog for the last year or so, waiting and hoping my daughter would join me in being interested in drawing & noticing the world around her and it's finally happened! so excited to start really being able to go on this with her, and using your great posts to help me help her unfold. will be watching for more info on the club. thanks so much for this great resource.

I'm fairly new around your blog, but I'm really enjoying it. And my little scientist in training would LOVE the Camp Creek Club. Wow. Can't wait for more info on it.
