i should not be allowed on the internet
First, I can't find my hidden candy.
Usually, if I can't lay my hands on it immediately, I figure that at least I'm burning calories going from hiding spot to hiding spot looking for it. But I can't find it at all.
So, reason number one I should not be allowed on the internet: I'm eating crunchy peanut butter from the jar while typing on my laptop. And I'm not using a spoon.
Second, I am redoing an interview that I had already edited and typeset and linked for the Inspiration Boards Blog and then deleted by accident.
Do I really need to accentuate that it was by accident? Yes, because I did it so boldly and forcefully. If you were watching a hidden videotape, you would swear it was deliberate. It wasn't.
Is there anything worse than redoing work that you already did? I mean, I enjoy working on the interviews. I really do. But I have had this experience in a myriad of situations — everything from accidentally replacing a completed work manuscript with the original, untouched version (I've done that!) to dropping a bowl of cake batter I just made from scratch. No matter how much you may enjoy doing something, you don't want to redo it.
I did almost the exact same thing here early this week when I wrote an entire blog post and then deleted it. Now, in all of these situations (except the cake batter), the computer did its thing and said "Are you sure you want to do that?" And because I am an idiot, I chuckled and clicked YES. Why? can't? I? learn?
I haven't rewritten that post yet because, as previously stated, no matter how much I enjoy writing these posts, I don't want to rewrite them. Ever. I will, eventually, but I will do it in a surly and untimely manner.
Finally, three lovely people e-mailed me this morning about things related to this blog and, in a fit of organization, I decided to file them in my correspondence folder before answering them. So I carefully clicked once, twice, three times, then hit DELETE instead of "move to folder". What? is? wrong? with? me? So if you e-mailed me this morning, I am extremely sorry, but you will need to e-mail me again. Mea culpa. That's Latin for "my bad".
And I haven't forgotten to announce winners for the wire drawing — I am just cutting and organizing a lot of wire so hopefully I can send out more than three packages!
