first art class, and thank you!

art_case.jpg

Thank you for all the great tips and advice about the loft bed! From now on I'm coming to you with all my questions and problems. Prepare yourselves.

So, first art class today, and I promised you a report. It went swimmingly. It's a great bunch of kids, nice mix of ages and personalities. We have a large group, so even when some people can't attend we should have plenty to make a good class. All around, a big thumbs up.

The picture is of our battered old art case, a rolling suitcase we outfitted a long time ago for field trips. I brought it out of hibernation today. It feels good to work with kids again!

Would anyone be interested in some sort of lesson plans for this class? I was thinking I could post something each week, although I probably shouldn't get overambitious. Let me know if that is something you would want. Leave me a comment — it will cheer me up when I am wearily deleting the 72 Romanian spam comments I get each day. Think of it like clapping your hands to revive Tinkerbell.

oh yes! That would be fantastique! I'd be very pleased if I could copy your art lessons in my own home. Pretend like we're there, but with my warm weather instead of your snow.

I've never commented on your blog before, but I love it! And I would love to see some lesson plans. You're so inspiring!

Yes, yes!! An art lesson plan?? Very nice. I'd be one of your takers.

And here might be something else to cheer you up. One reason (among many) I like your blog is that you only write when you have something to say. I like that! I'm sad when there is nothing new to read, but then I prefer that to drivel. It's probably why I keep coming back! Nice job!

Yes, would love to glean even more info from you! Share some lessons.

Came back to your site while doing middle-of-the-night craft organizing (also known as pregnancy-induced insomnia). The photos from your LPS and your craft space there help so much!
Thanks again.

I love the artcase -- I think I need one. Yes, please, to lesson plans.

michelle - i secretly think about replacing it with something cheap and a bright color from tj maxx or one of those stores .. lol .. it's such an ugly black & grey - but so useful! (but of course buying a new one isn't strictly necessary - would waste money, negate the deal i got on this one (12 bucks or something) and you know, not "green", lol.)

Delurking to say how much I have enjoyed reading your blog and to say YES PLEASE! to the lesson plan!!!! I am hitting a creativity plateau with my oldest and he is such an "Art Sponge" somedays I feel like I am failing him (now if only he would be as absorbed with Math hahaha) Thanks again! Angela
